The Low-Down on Conditioners
Conditioner... Sorry… Huh? Remember the days when you applied it to your hair, combed or brushed it through and then rinsed it off? Quick fast, right?
Conditioner... Sorry… Huh? 🤔
Remember the days when you applied it to your hair, combed or brushed it through and then rinsed it off?
Quick fast, right? 👌🏼
Well... It's not those days anymore 😂
Let’s first start by saying... There are 3 types of conditioners:
- Rinse-out conditioner (usually containing silicones)
- Deep conditioner
- Leave-in conditioner
Each of these is used for different reasons.
Let's start with the rinse-out... 👀 We probably don't even own these anymore lol, so moving on.
🥑 Deep conditioners:
Our hair's vegetables. These have the nutrients to feed our hair. This step is crucial in nourishing our hair after a wash. It helps to keep the hair moisturised.
🧴 Leave-in conditioners:
These are the “lotions” for our hair. If you don't moisturise your skin after a shower, you look ASHY! The same concept applies to our hair. Apply the lotion it needs to stay hydrated. It's not a step we should be skipping!
No curl cream or gel will give you what a leave-in conditioner does. Think of the curl creams and gels as the “make-up” for the hair. Not necessarily nutritionally beneficial, but adds to the overall look. Leave-in conditioner is the primer before applying your make-up.
If you suffer from dry hair and you’re not using a leave-in conditioner, we suggest you give it a shot for the next month and see if it makes a difference.
We’d love for you to share your experience… positive or negative.
